God of War III, All Gamers Need To Buy a PS3

Firstly, the latest poll I ran on the site ‘Is GOW3 enough to make you buy a PS3?’ has provided some convincing results, as you can see 79% of the people who voted would pick up a PlayStation 3 solely due to the release of God of War III, of the 169 people who voted, 134 people chose ‘yes’.

Let’s face it, there aren’t that many PlayStation-exclusive game series that command the same authority and hype that the God of War series does, Uncharted 2 looks stunning, it’s probably my biggest contender for GOTY 2009, but I don’t know many people who would go out and purchase a PS3 on just Uncharted 2 alone, it’s the truth. Killzone 2 the same thing, however I personally know people just waiting for God of War III to drop into stores, and the poll clearly confirms this.

In addition one must consider the sort of impact a price drop + God of War III will have on the sales of the PS3. Right now there are numerous reasons to buy a PS3, top quality titles across the board, and a combination of these titles more than merits the purchase of a PS3, however it seems like GoWIII might be strong enough to be a ‘standalone’ reason to get a ‘Black Beast’.

I’ve also collected research data from various other forums, including Gametrailers and IGN, and the results are roughly the same, we’ve all heard the saying numbers don’t lie – and the numbers are pointing to a mass sale of PS3′s when this beastly title gets released…March 2010 can’t come soon enough.
