The rumors are true, EA Canada has done it again. Just days after the release of the initial screenshot for the upcoming NHL 11, promoting a brand new Real-Time Physics engine and broken sticks into the game, the team has now announced the inclusion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) into the NHL franchise. The CHL consists of three different leagues, the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Western Hockey League (WHL), and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

The licensing agreement between the CHL and EA Sports will allow the following to be included in the next edition of the franchise:
- Ability to play with all 60 teams that make up the CHL
- CHL new RBK Edge Jersey design in NHL 11
- Names and Likenesses of players that are on the rosters of a CHL team
- Mastercard Memorial Cup
- WHL, OHL and QMJHL logos and league structures
That’s right! All of the CHL players will be featured in NHL 11 along with the likeness of the league as the integration will be included in several modes in the game, including Be A Pro, Be A GM, Tournament Mode, Season Mode and Playoff Mode. As David Branch, President of the CHL, put it, “The CHL is very excited to partner with an industry leader like EA SPORTS to create a brand new way for CHL fans to associate with their favorite CHL teams and players.” Meanwhile, fans of the NHL series are more than likely salivating at the fact of getting another step closer to having all of the world’s major hockey players in the NHL franchise and the most complete NHL game ever made.
