Battlefield 3 DLC Announcement Next Week

Gamespy reports that during a conference call with EA earlier this week, the company announced that there will be some announcements about Battlefield 3 as early as next week.

An announcement that says to expect an announcement? Apparently so, as EA is planning to hold an event in New York next week that will contain the real news about the game. This is what Peter C. Ausnit said during the conerence call:

"You’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York."

There aren’t any details about what the specifics of the announcements might be, but the expected DLC could contain maps featuring San Franscisco, Miami, and possibly New York according to MP1st. It’s also possible the new DLC, which would likely be more of an expansion than just a map pack, will include new weapons and vehicles and possibly some snow-themed maps.

This is all conjecture at this point, as nothing has been confirmed pertaining to what the news might actually be. But there is surely news coming, so we will just have to wait until next week when EA gives us the official scoop.
