Crysis 3 Announced for Spring 2013

As recent leaks on Origin listings had indicated Crysis 3 was incoming. It was only a matter of time before it was officially announced.

That happened today.

EA and Crytek officially announced Crysis 3 for Xbox 360,PC and Playstation 3 and they have set a release window roughly aimed at Spring 2013. Powered by Crytek’s proprietary CryEngine, the third installment in the venerated shooter franchise returns to New York City and puts the players in the shoes of Prophet. NYC has been surrounded by a giant dome and rainforests and canopy have grown in certain areas.

From the looks of it, the setting is taking the best of both the previous games. The rainforests of the original Crysis and the urban "jungle" of the sequel. According to Crytek head, Yevat Cerli, Crysis 3 will continue the series’ proud tradition of delivering players intense first-person shooter action mixed with sandbox style gameplay.

Watch out for Crysis 3 when it descends on all of us next year!
