With the release of The Simpsons Arcade this month on PSN/XBL and after X-Men Arcade found it’s way into homes last year as well other games that have seen there place on XBL(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade), the Virtual Console(Shinobi, Rygar, etc), there has been a trend of releasing arcade classics digitally in the last few years. Not all of them were updated with an online mode such as for The Simpsons but nevertheless it is good to see some of them get released on console in people’s homes for the first time.  And here we will cover some more arcade classics that could use a new home someday.
To start off is one arcade great from 1994, that is based off a battle still raging:
Alien vs. Predator was an excellent beat em up released by Capcom.  It included 3 player co-op on one machine which would be great to play at home with buddies on the couch or online. With four players to choose from of Coloniel Marines and Predators with different weapons, attacks, strengths, players will blast their ways through many levels to take control of the alien menace. The game was a blast and there are sure to be many who fondly remember it and would easily pay up $10-$15 for a rerelease.
The game looked great in it’s day and would still stand up today for a PSN/XBL release. Hopefully for fans of the game and series, it may happen one day.  With games like X-Men and The Simpsons getting released, there is more hope that rights issues will not be an impossible obstacle.
