SEGA Europe and SEGA America has partnered up with PlatinumGames for the development of Vanquish, a third-person shooter where players take the role of a government agent named Sam in a world where nations fight over the earth’s remaining natural resources. Sam also has a large array of weapons and martial arts skills to take down his enemies.

The story is supposed to take place in the near future where energy resources have nearly depleted. In response to this, the US has built  a satellite that will harness the sun’s energy to power the country. However, Russia decides to steal it and creates an energy blast from the energy of the sun to destroy San Fransisco so that the US surrenders to them. The US decides to send their armed forces in order to recapture the satellite before Russia decides to destroy their next target: New York City.

"Vanquish" will be released sometime in Winter 2010 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. For more information, visit www.sega.com/vanquish.
