Tomb Raider Delayed to next year.

An announcement on the Official Tomb Raider Blog has stated that;
“Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.”
While always disappointing that we won’t be playing the games we want sooner, rather than later, a delayed game is mostly a good sign. It means that publishers and developers alike want to release a game that is as good as they can, rather than throwing out some half baked game to get some easy money.
Now the cynic may say that they didn’t want ‘Tomb Raider (2013)’  to go up against all the other highly anticipated games that are set for release in late 2012 like; ‘Assassin’s Creed III’, ‘Bioshock III’, ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’, ’Dishonored’, ‘Grand Theft Auto 5’, ‘Halo 4’, ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’, ‘Metal Gear Solid Rising’ and ‘Resident Evil 6’, but I’m sure the thought didn’t even cross their minds.
Either way expect to see more on this game, and most of the others in the above list, at E3 this year.
