RESISTANCE 2 REVIEW
Insomniac's second take into the World War II-less world of Nathan Hale

Multiplayer in Resistance 2 comes in two very tasty flavors: competitive and co-op. As mentioned before, the competitive takes up to 60 real players and places them on the battlefield in various game modes. The gameplay in Competitive does not differ much from that of the campaign, but does give the players several different added skills called Berserkers. These special perks tweak your character and can be applied in order to give you an advantage in different situations. The competitive isn't very tactical or realistic, and it's certainly not deep considering there is not very many unlockables and you usually just unlock clothing items and skins; but it is very chaotic and, above all, very fun. What Insomniac decided to do is take all the usual stress from other online shooters and abandon it; the result is simplicity perfected, a fun and unique competitive portion that anybody can pick up and play. As for the co-op, this is where you will be spending most of your time. This co-op offers 3 varied classes: Medic, Soldier, and Special Ops. You are placed with 7 living teammates on an incredibly huge map where you are assigned different tasks to do on that map. Teamwork is essential, especially on Superhuman difficulty where the use of headsets is almost essential to survival.

Resistance 2 is a great sequel to what is turning out to be a great series. Despite the numerous changes that Insomniac decided to include in the game, the core feature from Fall of Man that returns in its sequel is the thing that made the original so special: Fun. Resistance 2 is a content-packed and heavy-hitting game in Sony's growing lineup of first-party exclusives. And we look forward to Resistance 3, which should be right around the corner.

I guess you are correct, but still, I thought Insomiac made Chicago look amazing, with the dark alleyways and being surrounded by the chimera.   Sure, it was colorful at some points, but even destruction can't stop mother nature.

Did you see the blood on the ground when you kill a Titan? It looks awful even for 2008 standards. It got rid of the bleakness, which is something I loved in FoM

Good review Chaz. I agree on your words about the co-op and multiplayer. They're really fun.   As for graphics, I thought it had a great art style.
