A picture is worth a thousand words, so how many words is a motion picture worth then? When advertising your game, it is important to do so with style. A good montage can go a long way when crafting a memorable experience. Listing all of the great trailers out there would be impossible, instead we'll have a look at some of the recent ones that come to mind.
Dead Island pulled off a rather unique trick. The trailer plays out almost entirely in reverse, in mixed chronological order and shows us the fate of a loving family, all while playing a sad but very memorable tune in the background. This led gamers to believe that Dead Island will be a very unique zombie game focusing on story, emotion and the little details, too bad the actual game is nothing like that. Still, there is no denying how awesome and unique the trailer itself is.
Featuring "UNKLE - Lonely Soul", the first official trailer for Assassins Creed offered great insight into the elegant, but not so innocent dance of the assassins. Truly a piece worth revisiting.
The Guild Wars 2 announcement trailer is a piece to behold, revealing an epic storyline with artwork set in motion and a grand orchestral soundtrack. Guild Wars 2 promises to change the way MMOs are played and perceived. The moment when the art turns into actual gameplay environments sends a chill down your spine, hinting that all promises will be delivered in a legendary fashion.
Kamatari is known for its weirdness. The Billiard trailer for the upcoming Touch My Katamari on Vita is interesting, genius and funny at the same time.
