Mainichi Issyo
Mainichi Issyo follows the life of a bunch of cats the lead character being Toro Inoue which surprisingly is Sony’s mascot in Japan. While the game does provide news, mini-games and a form on communication between players the game left to its own devices is a virtual pet. Toro wanders around not doing a lot and players can purchase items to keep him entertained and perform actions.
If you really want to cut to the good stuff (I say good stuff, is waving a leek around good?) jump to 2:30.
SeGaGaGa is a game made by Sega. In the game the year is 2025 and Sega isn’t doing very well as a company so it hires a bunch of kids to create some new games for it. This game was one of the last games released on the Dreamcast so you’ve got to admire the balls to pitch this idea to the bosses of Sega at the time. The game is an RPG with mini-game sections. The player must fight again the evil DOGMA (which is in no way related to the Sony Corporation) who have stolen Sega mascots and technology.
Doshin the Giant sees the player controlling a large Yellow golem as he wonders around the Islands making the villagers happy. Once you make them happy enough they’ll make a monument to you and make you grow larger. Doshin could also transform into an evil alter-ego who creates fear, make them fear you enough and they’ll make monuments to you and make you grow larger. Make 16 monuments and the game will end. Kinda like a poor man’s version of Black and White. Doshin could raise and lower terrain and pick up items but other than that not a lot happens in the game.
Oh and encase you’re wondering that’s a belly-button on his front.
Rose and Camellia 2
Rose and Camellia 2 is a slapping game. That’s all you need to know, there is a back story about how as a widow you’ve got to slap women to gain their respect but I can’t help but think that’s a dodgy message to spread around.
A Wii game available to download that was so bad that Namco didn’t release it as an arcade game in 2006. Well thankfully people are less fastidious about Wii Ware games so they released it anyway. Players can choose from a number of flamboyant characters including an American boxer, a British female bodybuilder, a top hat wearing Spaniard and a polar bear. The game sees them as they chase a thief through three levels to get back a friends tub of protein powder. The player but move his arms to fit through the hole in the wall.
Personally I think Namco missed a trick, it should have released it as an arcade game but placed it in gay clubs and bars.
