The Dark Spire features two presentation modes -- "Classic" and "Modern." "Modern" is what you'd expect of a present day DS dungeon-crawler, while still offering a rather unique aesthetic. "Classic," on the other hand, is straight out of a 1980's CRPG, complete with the sounds and music that you'd expect to hear from a game of that era. It's one more way the game finds to differentiate itself, and it's also a rather fun trip down memory lane for older gamers.
