A while ago we told you that The Art of Uncharted 2, a 272 page book detailing everything you could possibly want to know about Uncharted 2 was being sold. The book has character bios, character concept art, CGI modelling, concept art for all the areas of the game, story boards and loads of commentary. You can check it out here.

 

It came in three editions the soft cover coming in at $65. The Special Edition, which is leather bound with embossed lettering, interesting to note that now all copies of the special edition get a 15 minute concept art video (before it was only the first 300 copies) reaching $129. And finally the one I was most interested in the Limited Edition, copy coming in at $300.

 

 

The Limited Edition is hand-bound in suede leather covers, complete with a leather bound presentation case that can be easily removed. Then you’ve got an individually-numbered and hand-signed certificate by Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells, Creative Director Amy Hennig, and Art Directors Robh Ruppel and Erick Pangilinan. As the name implies its limited, only 200 have been made and I was surprised to find that 70 copies still remain. Would have thought a game with as many fans of Uncharted 2 would be chomping at the bit to claim to these collector’s items. To pick up any version of the book head over to Ballistic Publishing.

 

I’m a bit weird when it comes game art but I do love being able to recognise areas of the games I’ve been and then think “oh that part was in it, but I didn’t see that part”. I mean just take a look at these glorious scans of the book.
