EVAN WELLS WANTS TO SEE A PS3 JAK AND DAXTER, JUST DOES NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES
In a recent interview with Joystiq, Evan Wells describes his passion for a PS3 Jak and Daxter and what he needs to do one.

Evan Wells sat down with Joystiq recently and commented on whether or not a Jak and Daxter PS3 will soon hit the PS3.

Evan Wells:

Maybe we could go to Jak and Daxter as the next project. Maybe we stick with Uncharted [laughs]. Maybe we come up with a new IP. It's tricky to be able to tackle all of those at once. Right?

We don't have the resources. So, we're gonna have to choose our battles. I'm not sure whether Jak and Daxter will win that battle. Like you were saying, though, with trying to find a partner to work with us on the PSP version of Uncharted, I think it would be a shame if there weren't a Jak and Daxter for the PS3 generation. So, if we can't find a partner for one of those, then maybe we're going to have to find a budget ourselves. [laughs]

With Jak and Daxter hitting the PS2 and PSP last year, gamers were disappointed that an HD version was not in the works. However, this quote can possibly tell us that perhaps after the Uncharted trilogy, Naughty Dog will go back to working on a Jak and Daxter. Uncharted 1+2 cost a lot of money and Sony supplied ND with the budget but perhaps two AAA games is just too much to cover at the same time.

Regardless of issues, Jak fans should be pleased to see Evan Wells with this much enthusiasm towards the series. Maybe Jak 4 will be a huge announcement at the next E3? We can only pray.

David, I think it's because Naughty Dog only focus's on one game at a time. But they just got a new studio and more team members so that can mean something.

If working on multiple projects at once just isn't feasible then why not just put Uncharted 3 on hold? We've already had 2 Uncharted games this generation and as good as Uncharted is i'd much rather see a new Jak & Daxter game than another Uncharted on the PS3.
